What we believe
Evidence-based prevention programs
The C.A.R.E. Coalition uses evidence-based prevention programs to address substance misuse in Carbon County. These programs focus on reducing risk factors like negative peer pressure, easy access to substances, and lack of parental supervision. At the same time, they work to build protective factors such as strong family bonds, positive school involvement, and healthy decision-making skills. By using strategies that are proven to work, the coalition helps prevent substance misuse before it starts.
social development strategy
Helping young people make healthy choices is a key focus of the C.A.R.E. Coalition. We use the Social Development Strategy, which includes providing opportunities, building skills, and recognizing growth. Whether it's learning daily tasks or solving problems, the goal is to build confidence and life skills. Just as importantly, we work to strengthen bonds with families and communities, knowing that supportive relationships are essential to a young person's overall development and long-term success.
