On the evening of January 12, 2026, the C.A.R.E. Coalition proudly hosted its first event of the year—a community movie night at the Rio Theatre in Helper. The event brought together approximately 120 attendees for an evening centered on connection, resources, and meaningful entertainment.

In addition to enjoying fresh popcorn and drinks, community members had the opportunity to connect with local partners and learn about valuable resources available to them. The evening’s feature presentation was Disney’s "Big Hero 6", a film carefully selected for its powerful themes of compassion, empathy, patience, and honesty.

We chose "Big Hero 6" because of the heartfelt lessons woven throughout the story. One character in particular, Baymax, beautifully models emotional well-being—demonstrating what it means to be a supportive friend while also recognizing the importance of caring for yourself. His message resonates with the Coalition’s mission to promote emotional health and strong, supportive relationships within our community.

The C.A.R.E. Coalition recognizes the importance of families and friends spending quality time together. By hosting events like this, we hope to create opportunities for connection, conversation, and shared experiences that strengthen our community.
